CAPTAIN’S RESPONSIBILITY The safety of a yacht and her crew is the sole and inescapable responsibility of the captain, who must ensure that the yacht is sound, seaworthy, and manned by an experienced crew who are physically fit. The Captain must further ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and stowed, and that the crew knows where it is and how to use it. It is also the sole and exclusive responsibility of the captain to decide whether or not to start or continue a race.

CERTIFICATION AND WAIVER I hereby certify that I have read and agree to the above-entitled CAPTAIN’S RESPONSIBILITY and that the yacht hereby entered conforms in all respects. I hereby agree that neither I nor any of my crew members shall hold Taylor Allen, Sam Temple, Rockport Marine, Inc. or any of their employees, WoodenBoat Publications Inc., Andrew Breece, Jon Wilson, Blue Pigeon Media, Inc., the Brooklin Boat Yard or any of their employees, ERR race committee, boat, captain and crew, ERR chase boats, their captains and crew, or any other officers, volunteers, or committee members responsible for accidents, injuries and personal or property damage, occurring during the race or related activities. I agree that no crew member will be aboard my yacht who has not consented to this waiver. As captain, I accept responsibility for any damages or injuries sustained by my crew members during the race or related activities. Nothing herein shall waive any claim that I or my crew members might have against any officer or committee member of the Eggemoggin Reach Regatta acting in his or her own capacity as a participant in the race as a captain or crew member of any yacht competing or participating in this race.

The CRF II racing formula will be used for the ERR. A copy of the boat’s rating is required as part of each application so we may assign you to the correct class. The rating rule is annually refined towards fair racing. ALL RATINGS MUST BE RENEWED ANNUALLY. To renew your rating, use this link.
